Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia

Peggy's cove is a must visit. Nearly all visitors throughout the history of Nova Scotia have enjoyed this small fishing village on the coast of Nova Scotia. Here is a great video of Peggy's Cove near Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This video of Peggy's cove was made in August 2006 on a summer day. The water and waves are calm. Sometimes Peggy's cove has tremendous waves splashing up on the rocks that originate way out in the Atlantic ocean.

The video feature is 10 minutes long and includes snapshots of various Peggy's cove features including the rocks, the village, lighthouse (this lighthouse is the most highly photographed lighthouse in the world) and much more. Inside the lighthouse is a small post office so you can send a postcard with a Peggy's cove postmark on it. the scenery is breathtaking. read more....

At Peggy's cove you can also find tidal pools full of life, crabs starfish and seaweed during low tide. There are also several pools all over the rocks that only are fed water during storm activity.

Bring stable shoes and do not venture anywhere near the edge where the rocks are visibly darker than the rest. This darker shade is the result of the occasional rogue wave that have been known to swoop people out into the cove. This is why the cove is named after a woman named Peggy. Peggy was swept off the rocks and bashed up against the coast sometime long ago.

The village has about 25 year round residents who are very lucky to live here. The little well kept village makes a wonderful day trip from Halifax.
